Hurricane Butterfly Special Import Project HB-HK416 Semi-Auto Complete Lower Receiver, Pistol Designation 5.56x45mm
Hurricane Butterfly is proud to import and introduce to the US commercial market the legendary HK416 Lower Receiver descending from our Special Import Project, the Hurricane Butterfly HK416 Semi-Auto Pistol. As with the complete pistol, there are NO civilian restrictions* on possession or ownership for this genuine, Obendorf Germany manufactured HK416C lower receiver.
This Heckler & Koch HK416C receiver was an alleged European law enforcement contract overrun manufactured by HK Germany for a agency requiring a semi-auto configuration. After an extensive and challenging process, Hurricane butterfly of Seattle, WA accomplished the impossible and imported a limited quantity of HK416’s for US commercial sale. This genuine, complete HK416C lower receiver is extraordinarily rare and exclusive to Hurricane Butterfly, this is not an HK416 clone. The only non-HK component on this assembled lower receiver is the pistol buffer tube. The imports were approved by the ATF in this specific configuration. Please see the official ATF FTB Response – Redacted for the complete ATF firearm classification and identification.
Until our special import project, the HK416 platform has been strictly limited to military and law enforcement import, possession, and use. While a small quantity of semi-automatic HK416 rifles were imported into the U.S. for law enforcement use, nearly all the previously imported HK416s are restricted to LE use only. Be one of very few to own a true unicorn.
Third Receiver Holes: In a PDW configuration, the brackets / eyelets that capture and stabilize the stock rods (when collapsed) are inserted and fulfill the forward holes above the hammer pin on the receiver. pictured in this Gun Broker auction, the holes on the receiver are plugged with 3-D printed inserts (included). Inserts will require a more permanent attachment prior to firing. As these receivers are 416C’s, use of a buffer retaining pin isn’t necessary and therefore this receiver does not have a buffer retaining hole. This does not affect function with a standard (non-PDW) type stock assembly.
